Perth Modern students attend International Space Competition

Participants attending the competition in Florida in July-August worked in large project teams with students from around the world. Their challenge was to develop a space station on the moon for a population of 18,000 people using technology that might be feasible by the year 2050.  Prior to presenting their projects students attended presentations by leading experts on the current and future state of potential of space technology. Although competition was not the overall objective of the trip, students from Perth Modern School were part of a group which came second in the overall competition.

On behalf of the team I’d like to express our gratitude for everyone’s support.  It was an opportunity of a lifetime.

It was wonderful to hear the innovative ideas from these very inspiring young people. The quality of their conceptual skills and grasp of complex project management was impressive – What an experience they had. I have no doubt they will go far in the future.”
